Memorial Day WeekendMay 27 – 30, 2022

Cornerstone Park, 1600 W. Wigwam Pkwy, Henderson, NV

On Memorial Day weekend 2022, the Rotary Club of Green Valley in conjunction with the City of Henderson and the USO® will host our annual Field of Honor® throughout Cornerstone Park in Henderson. We will again be honoring our Heroes: veterans, fallen soldiers, active duty military, first responders, and community members who live the Rotary motto: “Service Above Self.” At last year’s, ceremony Mr. Wayne Newton and Henderson Mayor Debra March spoke. This year, we will have multiple programs on stage throughout the weekend featuring local citizens, performers, high school and college musicians.  The main program on Monday, May 30, 2022, promises to once again be inspirational and moving.

The Field of Honor® 2022 will be a breathtaking display of nearly 1000 American Flags recognizing courage, nobility of character, and achievements of those around us. A special area sponsored by the Rotary Club of Green Valley will be dedicated in remembrance of the 58 victims of 1 October.

Honor Your Heroes

Veteran, First Responder, Friend, Family Member

Dear Friends:
We write to update you on the Rotary Club of Green Valley annual Field of Honor. We are disappointed the ongoing COVID pandemic has forced us to postpone the Club’s Field of Honor scheduled to be held in Cornerstone Park in Henderson, NV this Memorial Day. The Club has not given up on this wonderful event honoring our heroes, and we are planning with the City of Henderson to continue this event May 27-30, 2022.

Thank you so much for your ongoing support. Because of you, our Rotary Club is able to provide much-needed assistance to many organizations and schools in our community and beyond!

Best wishes, be well and stay safe.

President-Elect Lora Evans here, reporting from the (virtual) District Conference. We did a lot this year as a Club despite Covid limitations and stay-at-home orders. This was a great year to be a Rotarian, and I’m so proud of all of our club members for doing the work to help our local community! I’m also happy to welcome our new members that joined us this year. It’s a great time to be a Rotarian and get
involved in community service!

This past Thursday’s morning meeting was one for the books!
We inducted our newest member, Patrick Jones, who was sponsored by Tarby Bryant.
We also gave away 24 bikes to the students at a local elementary that participated in our Virtual Bike Rodeo!
And our AMP members met in the evening to brainstorm social, fundraising, and community service ideas for the new year!
It’s never a dull moment at Rotary! You are invited to join us Thursday mornings at 7am, or at our AMP evening meetings on the second Thursday of the month at 6pm.
